WIX Institute Of Filtration Technology Meets Customer Education Needs Head-On
Monday, 09 February 2004
Wix Filtration Products continues to put product training within the grasp of all its customers by providing hands-on and classroom experience at the WIX Institute of Filtration Technology.
2004 marks the tenth year of the Institute, with classes currently scheduled for WIX brand customers February 23-25, April 26-28, May 3-5, August 23-25, October 18-20 and November 1-3.
“The Wix Institute of Filtration Technology is an integral component of the total training mix offered by Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance to sales people, store and shop managers and counter persons,” said John Wick, vice president of sales and training for the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance. “Filters are one of the largest segments of sales for both the professional technician and DIY market, so they must be understood by the people who sell them. The Wix Institute does an excellent job in teaching Alliance members the nuances of filtration and how to sell customers on the features and benefits of the superior WIX Filters product line. In addition, Wix has a strong mix of products for fleet and heavy duty that are unsurpassed in the industry. Wix is an innovative leader, and the Alliance is grateful to tap into their knowledge by using their outstanding training facility. We fill up our slots for training at the Institute within the first month they become available and every year we have added more classes.”
The Wix Filtration Products Division of DANA Corporation offers this intensive, specialized three-day training for professional service technicians, parts store personnel and sales people who use and sell WIX brand filters. The 2004 curriculum will include:
· Industry Terminology
· Oil Filtration
· Air Filtration
· Fuel Filtration
· Hydraulic and Transmission Filtration
· Coolant Systems Design & Function
· Tours of Production, Engineering, Laboratory Facilities
· Tour of Product Management Department
The primary goal and focus of the Wix Institute of Filtration Technology training is to educate the customer on the types of filtration products available, as well as their design construction and use.
“Wix Institute of Filtration Technology is a three day course of study that offers the latest information on all types of filtration and products, the systems they are used on and how they are designed and manufactured,” said Chris Greeson, senior technical service manager for Wix Filtration Products. “Whether you are a professional mechanic or parts person, the Institute offers helpful, easy to understand filtration information you can use on a daily basis.”
With approximately 60 percent of the training session devoted to line and plant tours, and laboratory and testing facilities, participants receive functional, hands-on knowledge that they carry over directly to their daily work.
The 2004 training year finds the Institute focusing on the impact of EPA diesel emission regulations on filtration, WIX Filters’ new add-on micro bypass oil filtration systems, the new industrial hydraulic filtration line, as well as the new add-on fuel/water separation filtration products and accessories.
The cost of educational materials, room accommodations, breakfast and lunch will be provided to each participant by the Institute. Travel costs and any other incidentals will be the participant’s responsibility. The Institute’s professional travel service is available to coordinate all travel if necessary.
For registration information and forms, contact your local WIX Filter district manager or call Patti Parrott, the Institute Coordinator, at 704-869-3731. Class size is limited to the first 20 participants who send in the registration form and the required deposit, $75 (refundable upon completion of the course).
