WIX Filters FFA Box Top Program Keeps America Growing
Tuesday, 16 March 2004
In areas of the country where drought is causing financial hardships and school programs and student organizations are being cut due to funding problems, WIX Filters, the No. 1 filter in NASCAR and an exclusive NASCAR Performance Product, is proud to continue their support of the Future Farmers of America.
Once again, WIX Filters is joining forces with the Future Farmers of America organization to help students who are preparing for careers in agriculture to raise a cash crop.
WIX Filters is committed to helping the FFA chapters raise funds by donating 25 cents for every WIX Filter box top that a chapter redeems. This box top redemption program is an easy way for FFA chapters to raise funds and, at the same time, it encourages customers to visit their local auto parts stores for all their filter needs.
In 2003, the New Brockton, Alabama FFA Chapter received hundreds of dollars through the WIX Filters box top program that was used to help expand and secure chapter resources, and the New Brockton chapter is not alone.
"Programs like this can help to make up a significant portion of a chapter¹s budget," said Eric Schilling, collegiate specialist/PAF executive director for the National FFA. "Our affiliation with WIX has lead to the donation of more than $600,000 over the past 17 years, and helps develop relationships between the FFA chapter and members of the community, which everyone benefits from, along with assuring the continued success of our chapters nationwide."
If an FFA chapter is one of four that submits the most box tops per member, WIX will award them with a bonus check of $1,000. WIX will also award $1,000 to the chapter that shows the highest percentage increase over last year¹s fund-raiser.
FFA chapters interested in planning a box top promotion can call 1-800-NEED-WIX or visit www.wixfilters.com for the names of local WIX Filters Distributors participating in this program. These stores can also assist the FFA chapters in coordinating promotional activities based on the program.
"We take pride in our commitment to the FFA in assisting these well-deserving students by providing them with the tools they need to be successful in agriculture," said Bruce Johnston, brand manager for Wix Filtration Products. "We believe that it is important to build relationships with future customers in the early stages of their careers, and this program affords us the opportunity to foster loyalty both now and in the future."
