WIX® Filters strives To Filter Out Cancer

WIX Filters, a member of the Affinia Group family of brands, is offering auto part stores an opportunity to help Filter Out Cancer in 2010 through a unique pink oil filter can bank promotion.
“In 2010, we’re asking all of our auto part store partners to join us in our efforts to Filter Out Cancer by purchasing co-branded WIX Filter Out Cancer banks that they can use for their own fundraising efforts,” said Jeff Blocher, brand manager for WIX Filters.
WIX Filters will donate $2 per bank sold to the American Cancer Society on behalf of WIX and the auto part store making the purchase. Cases (12) of filter banks will be available for sale to stores at a price covering the production and distribution cost of the product. By registering for a Filter Out Cancer point-of-sale kit, shops receive:
• Heavy Duty-sized pink oil filter bank for the store to use to collect their own donations, with proceeds going to American Cancer Society
• Poster and counter card point of sale piece describing the fundraising effort
• Instructions on the program and information on where to send the donations collected by the store for filter bank sales and/or donation collection
“The Filter Out Cancer program is just one small way we can assist in the fight against cancer,” added Blocher. “It was exciting to be able to utilize our relationships with NASCAR, Richard Petty Motorsports, and Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper to launch this program in our backyard at Lowes Motor Speedway.”
WIX partnered with Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper and Richard Petty Motorsports to launch the Filter Out Cancer campaign on the back of the Kasey Kahne driven #43 NASCAR® Nationwide car in the Dollar General 300 on Oct. 16.
As an additional fundraising effort, NASCAR-driver autographed pink Oil Filter banks and the TV panel sheet metal from the car driven by Kahne will be auctioned on http://auctions.nascar.com in early 2010.
